New Music Releases.

Debut solo album Edna by Headie One was released this week. Headie One is a British rapper also known as Irving Adjei. The single “Ain’t It Different” on his album features AJ Tracey and Stormzy, the collection, including the single, is dedicated to his late mother, Edna. The singer is of Ghanian origin. He began rapping first in his early teens, although his real career began when he was released from prison for the first time. Adjei had been an inmate in prison for three times, he was accused of dealing crack, cocaine and heroin. 

This year is the 80th birthday of John Lennon, on this occasion there was a release of ultimate mixes wrapped in a collection “Gimme Some Truth”. Originally “Gimme Some Truth” was a protest song performed by Lennon. It saw the light in 1971 on the album “Imagine”. This collection marks what would have been John Lennon’s anniversary. Produced together by Lennon’s wife Yoko Ono and the couple’s son Sean Ono Lennon. The album contains 36 songs that have been remixed from the scratch.

Among other releases there is an album called “The Blueprint – Us vs Them” by D Block Europe. D Block Europe is a British rap group that consists of Young Adz, Dirtbike LB and Lil Pino. Their name refers to The Lox, a.k.a D-Block.  

The UK country sister duo Ward Thomas created their fourth collection called “Invitation”. The group includes two twin sisters Catherine and Lizzy Ward Thomas. They have been proclaimed “Britain’s first country stars.” While the sound they produce is American in its essence, the lyrics are genuinely British.

The Scottish rock group Travis released their 9th studio album called “10 songs.” The are 4 group members, namely Fran Healy, Dougie Payne, Andy Dunlop, and Neil Primrose. The name of the band originates from the movie “Paris, Texas” after the character Travis Henderson. The album was the first in four years and the first with the label BMG.

In addition, Juice WRLD’s album was released on CD and vinyl. The American rapper from Chicago, known as Jarad Anthony Higgins, died in 2019 due to drug related health problems at Chicago’s International Airport. Juice WRLD had an extensive history of substance abuse and always was open about it. 

Jax Jones released his new track “I Miss U” in collaboration with alt-pop singer Au/Ra. In addition, Little Mix and Steps shared tracks from their future albums “Confetti” and “What the Future Holds.”
