Superfoods facts you didn’t know about

Here is the list of foods we recommend you to include in your diet for a healthier lifestyle.

1. Pomegranate

It might seem weird to consider a fruit trendy, but pomegranate is definitely such, in addition to mango, dragon fruit, and other exotic fruits. Due to medicinal properties and nutritional content, exotic fruits have been referred to as superfoods. According to the latest research, pomegranates strengthen heart health and help avoid cardiovascular disease.

2. Avocado

Each Avocado contains over 29 mg of magnesium. Magnesium helps balance blood pressure and the level of sugar in blood. It is known that the lack of magnesium is directly related to the risk of type 2 diabetes. In addition to that avocado is the source of fiber, as well as poly- and mono-unstaurated fat. Note that if you replace saturated fats with unsaturated like those that can be found in avocados, you minimize the risk of cardiovascular disease.

3. Broccoli

Broccoli is known to reduce the risk of cancer and prevent stroke and heart attack. Together with cauliflower, cabbage and Brussels sprouts, broccoli serve as a rich source of fiber. Products full of fiber allow you to feel full for a longer time, so these products are suitable for weight loss diets.

 4. Berries

Most berries are low in calories and high in fiber, just to name a few: blackberries, raspberries, and strawberries. They serve as antioxidants and help prevent cancer.

Blackberries, specifically, help lower the risk of diabetes, heart diseases, and Alzheimer due to their antioxidant properties.

5. Seafood

Fish is rich in healthy fats and is full of protein. Omega-3s, found in seafood and fish, is especially beneficial to our health. These fatty acids help minimize the risk of stroke and heart attack and mitigate depression. It is recommended to include in your ration at least two servings of fish per day.
